The New York Knicks’ No. 44 is back for four more.

Per Shams Charania of ESPN, Landry Shamet is set to sign a four-year deal worth $24 million. Further intel from Ian Begley of SNY states that Shamet turned down larger offers to stick around in Manhattan, which has hosted each of his last two seasons.

A 2018 first-round pick of Philadelphia’s, Shamet joined the Knicks in September 2024. He averaged 5.1 points in his debut Knicks season on a career-best 46.1% from the field. Shamet found himself in a tight battle to reprise his role on the Knick roster, but found an opening through the sudden retirement of free agent veteran Malcolm Brogdon.

Shamet saw an expanded role in this Knicks rotation this season, putting up 9.3 points in 23 minutes a game. His postseason breakout played a major role in the Knicks’ utter domination of the middle portions of their championship run.

From Game 3 of the conference semifinal against Philadelphia through Game 2 of the NBA Finals in San Antonio, Shamet shot 24-of-34 with an extra point on the line. The resulting 67.6% success rate is the highest in NBA postseason history in an eight-game span with a minimum of 30 such tries, breaking a 25-year-old record held by former Knicks coach Derek Fisher.

“He’s a true professional ever since he’s walked into the league,” Knicks captain Jalen Brunson said of Shamet after the two led the Knicks’ charge from 22 points down in the conference final opener against Cleveland (h/t Kristian Winfield, New York Daily News). “I’ve got to see his work firsthand these past couple of years. He’s up to any task that you put in front of him.”

Shamet is the latest Knicks retained on the ledgers, joining Jose Alvarado and Mohamad Diawara.

Begley noted that Shamet’s new deal will likely make it difficult to retain the longest-tenured Knick, Mitchell Robinson, especially if the team is truly dedicated to the James Dolan mandate of staying below the second apron.
