Mitchell Robinson’s injury situation remains an issue for the New York Knicks.

Dealing with a severe left ankle injury, the center was sidelined for the entirety of New York’s preseason and has only been able to find the court in a limited capacity to start the regular season, typically not playing the first game of back-to-backs.

After missing last night’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies, Robinson is expected to take the floor tonight against the 5-6 Orlando Magic.

In four outings this season (all starts), Robinson has averaged five points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks across 16 minutes per game.

“We just gotta take that thing one game at a time and follow the lead of our medical people,” Brown told reporters after Tuesday’s win. “I do know, in terms of continuing to ramp him up, he can go longer with his stretches, he can go longer with his minutes now than before. So it’s constantly on the rise based on what Casey [Smith] and his group tell us.”

For the Knicks, having Robinson back at full strength is crucial for their defense, a unit that has struggled thus far. When heโ€™s active on the glass and protecting the rim, everything changes. The second chances disappear, and the team looks whole again.

Each game he plays a little longer feels like another step toward the Knicks playing at their fullest potential.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET. Stay tuned for our coverage of Knicks vs. Magic, as Mitchell Robinson returns to the floor for the first time since Sunday.
