Wednesday night was a rough one for Philadelphia 76ers fans.

First, they watched their team get absolutely bodied by the New York Knicks, 138-89. Then, in the midst of such a shellacking, they realized they weren’t getting that free chicken.

Mitchell Robinson played the role of villain on this night, as he hit 5 of 8 free throws in the game, which is an improvement over his paltry .408 season mark. Crucially, however, he did not miss consecutive free throws in the second half, something that would have triggered the Sixers’ free chicken promotion.

After the game, Mitch trolled the fanbase with a simple statement…

“No chicken for you, bud.”

Robinson, 27, dominated in his rim-protection role on this night. He finished the hoops slaughtering with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 blocks in a little over 15 minutes of game action.

Philly’s chicken promotion is backed by Chick-fil-A, and is called “Bricken for Chicken.” As previously stated, any opponent player who misses consecutive free throws in the second half of a home game triggers the promotion that dishes out free chicken nuggets to those in attendance.

The fun began later in the third quarter when Mitch missed his first free throw. Of course, he hit the second to quiet the crowd.

All told, Philly intentionally fouled the Knicks’ big man three straight times. Robinson missed the first while nailing the second on his first two trips, and then hit both on his third trip to the charity stripe.

Thanks to the troll job, perhaps the Philadelphia 76ers will have a new promotion ready for the next time the New York Knicks are in town: villain night, where breaking decibel sound barriers each time Mitchell Robinson touches the ball, gifts the attending crowd a free purple sport coat and one Joker card.
