The New York Knicks are reportedly shaking things up with a little bit of Thunder.

Per Ian Begley of SNY, the Knicks are set to sign 2024 first-round pick Dillon Jones to a two-way contract. Jones appeared in 64 games of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s championship run staged last season and was recently repping the Rip City Remix in the G League.

Technically speaking, this won’t be Jones’ first time on the Knick ledgers: when he was drafted 26th overall by the Washington Wizards in 2024, Jones was traded to New York in exchange for his fellow selection Kyshawn George. The Knicks then immediately flipped Jones’ draft rights to Oklahoma City for future picks.

Jones will take over the two-way deal left open when the Knicks waived Tosan Evbuomwan two weeks ago. The 6’5, 235-lb. small forward was averaging 16.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 7.6 assists in 24 appearances for Portland’s affiliate this G League season, notching three triple-doubles in that span. He put up 2.5 points and 2.2 rebounds during his time in the Association last year.

Jones was traded back to Washington in June and was waived just before the regular season tipped off. He became the top pick in the 2025 G League Draft, originally chosen by the Los Angeles Lakers’ South Bay affiliate before he was once again moved.

Per Chase Hughes of Monumental Sports Network, Jones drew praise from Wizards Summer League coach JJ Outlaw for his “defensive mentality.” George was also complimentary, calling Jones “very vocal [and] poised” during their shared action in Las Vegas.

Jones joins Trey Jemison and Kevin McCullar as the Knicks’ two-way men.
