After a brief two-game absence, the New York Knicks ironman is back.
Forward Josh Hart will play against the Boston Celtics on Sunday afternoon, a 1:00 p.m. ET tip-off from the TD Garden (the other, secondary Garden).
Hart, 29, missed the Knicks’ two previous games—a 113-110 overtime win over the Chicago Bulls and a 142-105 spanking at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers—both of which were the team’s first two contests after NBA All-Star Weekend.
The official reason for Hart’s absence was patellofemoral pain syndrome, which sounds daunting but isn’t nearly as bad as it reads or looks.
In 53 games this season, Josh Hart is averaging 14.7 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 37.8 minutes per game. His 37.8 minutes per game currently ranks third in the NBA, just shy of teammate Mikal Bridges’s 38.1 mark, which leads the league.
Although Sunday’s road matinee may appear to be just another regular-season snoozer, it’s an ultra-important game for the New York Knicks, who are currently 0-6 against the NBA’s best three teams—the Celtics, Cavaliers, and Oklahoma City Thunder.
