The New York Knicks survived a late-game scare against the Atlanta Hawks, 149-148, remaining hot heading into the NBA All-Star break.

New York Knicks fans old enough to remember the 1990s could not help but endure hellish nightmares Wednesday night. The star of the nightmare was none other than Reggie Miller.

New York led the Atlanta Hawks by six points with just 10 seconds remaining in the final game before the NBA All-Star break, only to allow overtime to become reality. Fortunately, unlike Miller’s magic act in Game 1 of the 1995 Eastern Conference Semifinals, the Knicks prevailed this time.

Jalen Brunson‘s clutch go-ahead jumper with just 11.1 seconds remaining in overtime turned out to be the difference. The Knickerbockers survived the Hawks in what turned out to be the highest-scoring game in the league this season, 149-148.

Karl-Anthony Towns—responsible for the turnover that helped Atlanta force overtime—led the way with 44 points on 14 of 25 shooting, including 7 three-pointers (10 attempts). He also ripped down a team-high 10 rebounds (tied with Josh Hart).

The hero of the night, Brunson, helped the cause with an impressive 36 points on 13-21 shooting, which included 3 three-pointers.

More to come. Stay tuned.
