After a promising Game 5 victory, the New York Knicks were smothered entirely by a fast-paced Indiana Pacers squad in Game 6.

There’s no way to put this lightly, so let’s not sugarcoat it: The New York Knicks‘ 2025 season is officially over.

The Indiana Pacers took charge at home in Game 6, squashing all hopes for a Game 7 in this series and anything beyond it for the Knicks.

Pascal Siakam, who simultaneously solidified himself as both a Pacers legend and enemy of the state of New York during this series, painted yet another masterpiece to finish it off, tallying 31 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, and a steal to end the night as Indiana’s leading scorer. He was the only Pacer with double digits in the scoring column for the vast majority of the game.

However, it was a fourth-quarter flurry from Tyrese Haliburton that truly drove the knife into the back of the Knicks’ season. The Pacers’ star guard scored 11 of his 21 points and dished out four of his 13 assists in the final frame.

OG Anunoby finished at the top of the scoring column for New York, notching 24 points, five rebounds, and three assists to go along with a pair of steals and blocks.

Karl Anthony-Towns, or whatever is left of him after the physical toll this season took on his body, finished the game as the Knicks’ second-leading scorer with 22 points, 14 rebounds, and two assists.

Jalen Brunson‘s season to remember ended with a game to forget, as the Knicks’ captain finished with just 19 points, 2 rebounds, and 7 assists while scoring an uncharacteristically low four points in the final 12 minutes of action.

Some are going to consider this the end of an abusive relationship.

Whether you think the Knicks played above their expectations by hurdling the mighty defending-champion Boston Celtics and making the Eastern Conference Finals against all odds, or that they consistently underperformed all season with the amount of talent they had on the roster, everybody should be able to agree on one thing: The 2024-25 New York Knicks toyed with emotions like few other squads.
