New York Knicks superstar Jalen Brunson is set for a busy All-Star Weekend in San Franciso, CA, as the All-Star Game starter has also been announced as a participant in the 2025 3-Point contest.

The other participants are Cade Cunningham, Darius Garland, Tyler Herro, Buddy Hield, Cam Johnson, Damian Lillard, and Norman Powell.

The Knicks’ captain is shooting 39.7% on 5.8 attempts per game from beyond the arc this season, ranking him fourth among all competing players for percentage but dead last in terms of attempts.

Brunson, who also competed in the 2024 3-Point Contest but was eliminated in the first round, is again looking to become the first left-handed player in the history of the NBA to win it.

He rejoins other southpaw shooters Sam Perkins, Cuttino Mobley, James Harden, Mike Conley, Luke Kennard, and former Knicks teammate Julius Randle as the only other lefties to ever even compete in the 3-Point Contest.

On top of becoming the first left-handed player to win the contest, Brunson would also become the first Knick to bring the trophy to Madison Square Garden.

Other former Knicks who have competed in the 3-Point Contest include: Trent Tucker (1985-86, 1987-88), Hubert Davis (1995-96), Charlie Ward (1997-98), Allan Houston (2000-01), Quentin Richardson (2005-06), Danilo Gallinari (2009-10), Steve Novak (2012-13), and the aforementioned Julius Randle (2022-23).

Randle’s only appearance in the event during the 2023 All-Star Weekend became notorious for all the wrong reasons. His meager 13 points in the first round of the contest not only saw him get eliminated but also produced a video of his son, Kyden, on the verge of tears as he watched on in dismay.

The NBA 3-Point Contest will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 8:00 p.m. ET. It will be broadcast on TNT and streamed via the TNT app and the NBA’s official website.
